Polydor Press Release Early 1976

It is anticipated that 1976 will be the year that Bilbo Baggins come to the surface. Having emerged in recent months as one of the brightest hopes to be found, they are now moving up under the management of Tam Paton, being second in popularity in Scotland only to the Bay City Rollers.

Their third single "It's a Shame" has recently been released, with good reviews and many plays on the air. They have also made several recent TV appearances.

Colin Chisholm — Lead Vocals, born in Edinburgh 1st March 1953.

Jimmy Deakin — Rhythm Guitar, born in Edinburgh 28th November 1952.

Gordon Liddle — Drums, born in Glasgow 19th April 1955.

Brian Spence — Keyboards and Guitar, born in Edinburgh 7th January 1955.

Gordon McIntosh — Lead Guitar, born in Edinburgh 10th January 1955.

You can often find mistakes in press releases, especially if the act is new to the company. Here Dev is called "Jimmy Deakin". It's a shame they could not get it right for their third sing "It's a Shame". Ha, ha, ha. :-)
